Technical Writer openings with product based MNC in Kolkata
Responsibilities:
Write different types of manuals / online content in a clear and concise manner; These could be USER guides, Installation manuals, API guides etc.
Be technically savvy in the areas of documentation, by being hands-on with the features that are being dealt with; Capable of researching for relevant information independently. Provide research support to junior writers.
In addition to staying in within the norms of style guides / templates, review the junior writers' work for compliance, edit / rewrite the contents.
Be proficient in usage of documentation tools & systems (content management / single sourcing etc.). Is aware of new technologies in documentation, industry best practices.
Deliver the work allocated in time and with quality;
Adopt the right kind of communication mechanism to receive inputs (demos / review comments) from cross functional team. Be an excellent team player with good inter personal skills within the team and with cross-functional team members; Coach junior writers on the right mechanisms to influence stakeholders.
Serve as a mentor to junior writers and facilitate in unblocking issues. Develops training materials. Facilitates internal training. Provides inputs to managers on the performance of junior writers.
Create / assist in creation of documentation Plan in line with the produce development cycle, by supporting with estimates. Assess and appropriately escalate risk, follows through to resolution.
With capability maturity, contribution is expected in the areas process improvements, initiatives and innovation.
Reports into a Manager; in the absence of manager within a geography, reports into a principal information developer
